Child Safety Standards

Our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) โ€” our commitment, how we prevent and detect it, how to report it, and how we respond.

Last updated: 3 September 2026

Our commitment

Sparsha has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This applies to every part of our platform โ€” profiles, chat, voice and video calls, live streaming, rooms, reels, and gifting โ€” and to every user, without exception.

Sparsha is strictly an adult platform. Only users aged 18 and above may register or use the app. We do not knowingly permit minors on the platform, and any account found or reported to belong to a minor is immediately suspended and reported as described below.

๐Ÿ“

Scope

These standards cover any content, communication, or behaviour on Sparsha that sexualises, exploits, endangers, or victimises a minor, including but not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any format โ€” images, video, audio, text, or AI-generated content depicting or describing minors sexually.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to sexualise, exploit, or arrange contact with a minor.
  • Sextortion or blackmail involving, or threatening to involve, a minor.
  • Trafficking, sale, or promotion of a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Any account, profile, or content that sexualises a person who appears to be, or is claimed to be, a minor โ€” regardless of the stated age on the account.
๐Ÿงฑ

Prevention & safety by design

We build age-appropriate and abuse-resistant safeguards directly into the product, rather than relying on moderation alone:

  • Mandatory age gate โ€” every account must confirm they are 18+ during signup, and profile verification (including a one-time voice check) is compulsory before an account can chat, call, or go live.
  • No open contact-sharing โ€” phone numbers and other off-platform contact details are automatically blocked in chat, calls, and public rooms, which reduces a common grooming pathway of moving a minor off-platform.
  • Block & report on every surface โ€” every profile, message, call, live stream, room, and reel has a one-tap report and block option, visible to all users.
  • Restricted discovery for new/unverified accounts โ€” accounts that fail or skip verification cannot be discovered, matched, or messaged by others.
๐Ÿ”

Detection & moderation

Sparsha runs automated content moderation and spam/abuse detection across profile photos, reels, and reported content, flagging material that meets our severity thresholds for review or automatic removal. Content that is auto-classified as severe (which includes CSAE indicators) is removed and the account actioned immediately, without waiting for human review, consistent with our published Community Guidelines.

All flagged and reported content additionally passes through a human review queue, so automated decisions are checked and refined on an ongoing basis.

How to report

Anyone โ€” a user or a non-user โ€” can report suspected CSAE on Sparsha through any of the following:

  • In-app โ€” tap Report on the profile, message, call, stream, room, or reel in question. CSAE reports are automatically prioritised for immediate review.
  • Email โ€” sparshamediapvtl@gmail.com, our dedicated child-safety mailbox, monitored around the clock.
  • Grievance Officer โ€” sparshamediapvtl@gmail.com, our formal grievance channel under India's IT Rules, 2021.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement or emergency services first, then report to us so we can act on the account.

Enforcement

Any confirmed CSAE violation results in immediate, permanent removal of the offending content and account, with no warning or appeal step for the violating account. We preserve relevant evidence (subject to law) to support law-enforcement investigation, and take the same action against any account found facilitating, distributing, or requesting such material, not just the original poster.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Cooperation with authorities

We report confirmed or suspected CSAE to the relevant national authorities, including India's law enforcement under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and to internationally recognised clearinghouses such as the NCMEC CyberTipline where applicable. We cooperate fully with lawful requests from law enforcement investigating child-safety matters.

๐ŸŽ“

Moderator training

Our trust & safety team is trained to recognise CSAE indicators, handle reports with urgency and confidentiality, escalate immediately to senior review, and follow documented evidence-preservation and reporting procedures. This policy and our internal enforcement guidance are reviewed regularly and updated as our detection tools and the regulatory landscape evolve.

๐Ÿ“š

Legal framework

These standards are designed to comply with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021, and applicable platform policies including Google Play's Child Safety Standards and Apple's App Store guidelines on objectionable content and user safety.
